August is almost in the books, so if any of you are dying to squeeze every last drop out of this year’s summer festival season, this weekend might be your last chance.

The Orange County Pacific Festival is a 2 day event taking place this weekend inside and outside Triangle Square and Sutra in Costa Mesa. Sunday is more of a ska/reggae deal with bands like the Aggrolites and Rebelution, but Saturday is all about the disco. Indie dance darlings The Sounds and Miami Horror are among the headlining groups, as are DJs like Dim Mak boss Steve Aoki, “Music Sounds Better With You” co-creator Alan Braxe, local favorites Classixx, and Brooklyn disco duo Runaway. Tickets are 40 bones and can be bought here. If you go, be sure not to miss Alan Braxe, Runaway or Lifelike.

The festival is actually just a part of the 5 day “Sutra 5” event, which starts tomorrow at the club of the same name in Costa Mesa and coincides with DJ DC’s attempt to break the world record for longest DJ set. Trance superstars Above & Beyond will be there tomorrow, tech house phenom Joris Voorn will play Thursday, and hip hop/electro crossover Mickey Avalon will take the stage on Friday. The OC be poppin.

Saturday’s FYF (Fuck Yeah Festival) boasts more of an eclectic array of talents, but, like the Pacific Festival, is geared mostly toward the indie dance/nu disco crowd. Live sets from dynamic dance acts The Rapture and !!! make this a festival worth checking out, as do performances from disco/chillwave act Delorean and acid rockers Wavves. It all goes down this Saturday at LA’s Historic State Park, the same venue at which HARD’s Summer Festival took place. Tickets are highly affordable -only 30 clams- and can be bought here. The hipsters will be out in force for this once.

Lastly, I hope you guys had as much fun as I did on Sunday’s Chemical Brothers show. Easily my favorite concert of the year. The LA Times did a nice little write-up about the performance, and, of course, I highly recommend you check out the Youtube videos of the show. Phenomenal stuff.
