Well folks, it’s official. Giant has some new competition. After leaving Vanguard to take over Avalon, Giant has left a bit of space for competition for big DJ nights on Saturday in Los Angeles. The folks at Circus Disco have been picking up the slack, bringing some top-name trance DJs by LA. That’s all good and fine but I say there is room for more; we are after all Los Angeles. We can afford it. And we want it.
So in for round 2 is Insomniac, who just a few years ago used to promote Vanguard together with Giant. Now they have found a new home at the newly renovated Music Box at the Fonda Theater on Hollywood Blvd. Don’t worry folks… it’s just a hop skip away from Hollywood and Vine, about 3 blocks down the street from Avalon. In fact, I dare say it’s within walking distance.
Now this is some real competition! Insomniac is calling the new night Decor and will be kicking off the concept March 20th with Los Angeles favorite Sander Kleinenberg. Hopefully he knows this is not Miami, where the WMC is being held in just a couple of weeks (has anyone seen the line up for Ultra by the way? Epic.).
I look forward to some good events over at the Music Box. Meanwhile I am buying my Coachella tickets this weekend and will be severely looking forward to that for the next month! Yeahhh!
