Definitely had a fun time, no doubt about that, but he really seems to be pushing that crossover, mainstream-friendly, David Guetta brand of house music that’s all the rage right now amongst the college kids. To be honest, I expected a bit more energy. I think his Swedish House Mafia comrades are a bit better at working a crowd and playing big tune after big tune.
I was, however, greatly impressed by the opener: DJ Gina Turner, one half of the lady DJ duo Staccato. Her groovy, tech house beats were extremely on point, and I would be totally down to see her play a peak-time set. Did I mention she’s incredibly attractive? No? Well…she is.
Oh yes, one more bit of news: the Coachella lineup will be announced today. Stay tuned!
